The Free Thai-English Dictionary

What is the TH EN Dict (thendict.com)?

The ThEnDict is a Thai-English dictionary project concepted and maintained by volunteers. Everbody is invited to help by reviewing the current entries, suggesting new entries and reporting bugs. The format this dictionary is delivered in is inspired by and based on the EDICT-Project. As long we can keep this project alive and running, we will provide the download files of this dictionary for free. The usage of this dictionary in other projects (commercial or non-commercial) is also free of charge. All we ask for is mentioning this source - preferably with linking to this website.

What is the pattern of an ThEnDict (inspired by EDICT) entry?

The basic entry on the ThEnDict is inspired by the EDICT Format. It looks like this:

Thai /English meaning1/second English meaning/

or with romanization

Thai [RTGS] /English meaning1/second English meaning/

"RTGS" is short for Royal Thai General System of Transcription, which we use for romanization - the method of representing Thai characters in english alpabetical letters.

Examples:

ประเทศไทย [pratheṣ̄thịy] /Thailand/

bzw.

ประเทศไทย /Thailand/
